Aircore Drilling

Aircore drilling utilises hardened steel or tungsten blades to bore holes into unconsolidated ground. This method is preferable over RAB as it provides a more representative sample by preventing cross contamination.

 

RIG 2: AIRCORE RIG – KL 150

The KL unit has a top head drive with an Ingersoll Rand 750cfm x 250 psi compressor powered by a M11 Cummins diesel engine with onboard hurricane booster. The dump mast has a 3.5m stroke and being mounted on an Isuzu 6x6 carrier makes this a very adaptable machine. Depths that can be drilled are 150m Aircore & 100m light RC. This rig is also fitted with a hydraulically operated cyclone and splitter, hydraulic breakouts, dual air spanner system and features an onboard dust collector and safety cage for operator protection.

 

 

RIG 8: AIRCORE RIG – X300HC

Delivered new in 2013 this machine is mounted on a 6X6 Scania. Based on an Austex X300 with significant improvements made in the factory to Drillwest specifications this machine has onboard 900cfm x 350psi compressor, booster, cyclone, splitter and dust collector. An extremely versatile, efficient and powerful unit that can drill to 200m Air-core & 150m Light RC, this rig also features a hydraulically operated safety cage and air operated dual spanner system for efficiency and operator safety.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

RIG 10: AIRCORE RIG – DW300

Extensively rebuilt in 2013 this machine is mounted on a 4X4 MAN. Significant improvements made by Drillwest make this a safe and effective unit. The machine has onboard booster, cyclone and splitter. A versatile and efficient machine that can drill to 150m Air-core & 100m Light RC, this rig also features a safety cage and air operated dual spanner system for efficiency and operator safety.
