Safety & QA Training

Drillwest has a comprehensive safety management system in place. Safety inspections, pre-start checks and toolbox meetings are documented as required and are available for inspection on request.

A qualified safety consultant carries out an extensive company induction procedure for all new employees.

Compatible communications with mine sites are installed in all vehicles, and a satellite phone is supplied for each crew.

All Drillwest staff are trained in accordance with the MDAA (Mineral Drillers Association of Australia) competency standards. They must also complete the following courses and meet the following pre-employment checks:

  • Police clearance
  • Mine health surveillance
  • MARCSTA inducted
  • Intermediate first aid
  • Pre-employment drug and medical
  • Mine workers health surveillance
  • Commercial drivers fatigue management
